Healthy Chinese Recipes

We’ve all heard about how the Chinese diet is so healthy than ours, because of the low incidence of heart disease and other ailments in their population. But actually making the dishes might have seemed like a bit of a mystery.

Real & Healthy Chinese Cooking is a how-to book of Chinese cooking, written by Nicholas Zhou, a master chef with over 40 years of experience. His focus in the book is on meals that are easy and nutritious.

One of the highlights of this book for me was that it included recipes that are the same as you’d get in your favorite Chinese restaurant. I’ve always loved Sweet & Sour Chicken, but have never been able to get the sauce right at home. This book has the recipe, among others.

I do tend to cut down on the amount of soy sauce used, and use a low-salt version, because of slight high blood pressure problems. So be sure to examine the recipes in the book, and adjust them as needed for your own health needs.
